I used the fingerprint service and it was quite fast, no waiting lines at all. Great location and great service from Kent.

I needed more than 6 fingerprints done and the site told me I had to contact them to schedule an appointment. I called and after being put on hold they hung up on me. Then I emailed them explaining that I needed my fingerprints done but the site prompted me to contact them. Their responses were as if I didn't know how to use the site to make an appointment so I sent them a screenshot of the prompt and they ghosted me. I'm looking elsewhere now.

Made an appointment on line for a mid morning fingerprint. Jumped on Skytrain. Zipped downtown. Walked in. Staff took me right away. 15 minutes later I was walking back to Skytrain...all done. Easy peasy .

Very bad company, only knows how to threaten customers.
We went to your office with a referral letter from the Japanese Embassy. We are Japanese citizens and were told that bringing only our passports was sufficient.
At other agencies where we have done fingerprinting services, we were never asked to provide two pieces of ID.
If your company truly has such a requirement, there should be a written or official document stating that two IDs are required, rather than relying only on verbal instructions.
Your company’s policies should have official written guidelines. Why were you unable to provide any written proof when I requested it?
I showed your staff my electronic Canadian visa permit, but the female staff member refused to look at it.
We have traveled between the U.S. and Canada many times, and even border officers accept electronic visa permits. Are you saying that your company does not recognize them?
I did not only present my Japanese passport — I also showed the staff member my electronic visa permit.

This is an awful company. No official explanation, only arbitrary rules. They immediately resort to threats of calling the police. A business that treats people this way shouldn’t be operating at all!

We have already informed the Japanese Embassy about this issue and will avoid referring any clients to your company in the future. This was really frightening.

I find Commissionaires has really gone downhill in their hiring practices the past few years, I believe they are more focused on hiring immigrants for low wages rather than sticking to their original model of focusing on veterans. I have tried to apply for roles I am overqualified for but haven't been met with the a lot of professionalism from recruitment specialists such as Hanna Hillard. I do hope they can clean up their company like it used to be. Until then I would recommend placing your services elsewhere.

Called to get info on a background check and apostille. I was told that I could get one online and that the RCMP would snail mail me a physical certificate that I could get authenticated. This was not the case, not even a little bit. Now they're giving me the run around after taking my $$.

Paid $126 to do criminal record check for my work and both times returned incomplete without any indication why. I thought I misentered information the first time so did it again and checked all the data 3 times. Still got incomplete. Just go to the police station is better…

recently used Ink & Roll Fingerprinting for Police Clearances,I have to be honest — the process can make you really nervous. It’s easy to feel stressed and worried about making mistakes, especially if it’s your first time.

Worst company l have ever worked for.
They will appreciate you only in emails but in reality they don't care about you, your efforts and your sacrifices.
I was working in Richmond on one site over a year now and never received any complaints before. Even appreciated by the manager, client, director and supervisor.
My supervisor was harrassing me from a year, and he was even banned from last 2 sites for harrasment still managed to become a supervisor. When l finally able to get him fired. They started targeting me. They too my normal mistake which l didn't commit intentionally and terminated my employment without giving me a single chance to improve. According to their company policy there are 3 warnings but they didn't give me even one.
With other guards, offences like sleeping, vaping and complaints from clients. They ignored all and no action was taken. But at my time everything was done and fired me without warning. I even sacrifice my three jobs for them and step in as a lead and handle everything in absence of supervisor. When l tried asking questions why this unfair treatment with me, they said this is our final decision and we don't want to argue.
My sacrifices and efforts become waste and even now l am mentally stressed and not able to sleep because of their unfair treatment.
I really want to say people who want to join them. Please be prepared mentally to deal with this company if you ever faced this. I even decided to file a complaint against them in employment standards but l don't want to waste my time fighting with this stupid company. In this process l will be more stressed out.
Thank you.

I had never received such professional and pleasant attention. I don't remember the name, but he is a tall man to the left when entering the office. He was attentive at all times, handling everything calmly, taking the fingerprints super fast and efficiently. 1000% recommended.

Over the past four years working with Commissionaires, my experience has been divided — with portions being highly positive and others extremely challenging.
During my time with the organization, I have faced two accusations of racism, both of which were entirely unfounded. Despite there being no supporting evidence or proof of the alleged comments, I was still suspended and disciplined. When I requested to review the evidence supporting these allegations, none was provided.
Another ongoing concern involves the company’s inconsistency in upholding its own policies and communications. On May 13, 2025, I was involved in an incident at the Newton BIA, an AST-approved site, as confirmed in an official email sent by Elizabeth from Commissionaires.
That day, a Loss Prevention Officer (LPO) requested assistance regarding a suspected theft at Superstore. Although my partner and I had not directly witnessed the concealment, we arrived to assist as requested. Once the LPO made the stop, we supported her in ensuring the situation remained safe. The LPO informed us that the suspect was a repeat offender. When the individual became verbally aggressive and attempted to kick me, I lawfully placed him under arrest and detained him until police arrived.
Following this, Commissionaires claimed that I had breached company policy and acted outside my duties. I questioned this decision, given that:
• The site was designated AST-approved by company email.
• I acted in accordance with my training and within legal parameters.
• Both LPOs involved provided written statements confirming my actions were appropriate.
• The attending police officers had no concerns regarding the arrest or my conduct.
Despite this, management (specifically Gary Locke and Kuljeet Puni) dismissed the corroborating statements from the LPOs. They further suggested that my detailed report — which included proper procedure for double-locking handcuffs and ensuring circulation — implied I was “hiding something.” This is an unfair and unfounded characterization of standard, required reporting practice.
I have always conducted myself professionally, following my AST training and acting within the scope of my duties, which include assisting local businesses and security personnel when requested. The way this situation was handled felt unjust and inconsistent, especially when compared to how other employees with multiple safety-related complaints have been treated.
In summary, my concern lies not only with how these incidents were managed but also with the broader issue of inconsistency, lack of transparency, and disregard for evidence within the organization.
Furthermore, there appears to be a misunderstanding within the organization regarding the legal procedures that apply to security personnel. Some individuals seem to believe that we are required to read individuals their Miranda Rights; however, in Canada, the equivalent is the Charter of Rights and Freedoms. Security guards are not police or peace officers, and therefore are not authorized or obligated to read anyone their rights. This responsibility lies solely with law enforcement officers.
Over the past four years, I have truly enjoyed working with the Newton BIA. I have taken pride in building strong community relationships, earning the trust and respect of both residents and business owners — including members of the homeless community. However, my experience with Commissionaires has been deeply disappointing due to the way I have been treated. Despite receiving consistent positive feedback from BIA members who have described my work as exceptional, I was disheartened that no one from the BIA came forward to advocate on my behalf or challenge the unfair treatment I received from the company.

Japanese government sent me here to take the fingerprints right before 4pm, and even though your system was closed, a lady called JV opened it and helped me out. She was very kind and nice.
Thank you so much!

Security personnel at the Douglas Jung Building is extremely volatile and aggressive. There are no signs on the door to say that dogs are not allowed. I was picking up a pre-order within the building today. Security man got in my face, posturing aggressively and was screaming at me to leave, refused to acknowledge my service animal documentation and refused to give his name. Left me quite shaken. This person is clearly unhinged and needs behavioral training.
