Great place, very understanding and nice people!

I have been in Canada for about 8 years and have worked in many places, including restaurants and other security companies. I can honestly say that Commissionaires has been the best place to work. The management is excellent—especially my supervisor Andrew, who is always willing to listen and support. They truly put people first. Since joining, I don’t feel like just an employee; I feel like part of a family. Anytime I’ve had a concern or question—whether about pay, scheduling, or anything else—the management has resolved it quickly, often within 24 hours. This level of care and professionalism makes a huge difference. I highly recommend joining this company. My experience has been nothing short of amazing, and I truly enjoy working here.

They think they can park anywhere including fire lanes, similar to half the Uber drivers. Can’t be bothered to park 20’ away and walk their lazy ass in like everyone else trying to work and get going.

I recently had my passport photo taken at this place. The process was quick, and it only cost $18. They are open only on weekdays from 8 am to 4 pm. I highly recommend it, especially for those who can go during their lunch break.

Great service

Make sure you get a confirmation email. The ID service won't pick up the phone so if you leave a voicemail they will call back from a masked number and if you book the appointment over the phone that might not be even logged in their system. I did that with Melissa Taylor (ID service technician at Bedford location) and when I went there she was not even present in the office neither the appointment was logged. There was no proof with me to show that the conversation ever happened with her because the number was masked when she called me . So make sure you get a confirmation email. The people at the front office are absolute craps. No words to describe them in a better way.

A shout out to the Commissionaires working Pier 21 on Thursday morning. June 13, 2024 for going above and beyond helping a fallen woman on the road, Linda. Until Halifax Police and EHS arrived. Awesome

A short visit for fingerprinting this morning was met by friendly knowledgeable staff that streamlined an otherwise bureaucratic staffing process.

As a 19 year veteran of the Canadian Forces and a former part time employee of Commissionaires Nova Scotia this is my one and only recommendation. Do not work for Commissionaires Nova Scotia.

I mean it's a nice building, couple of class rooms, and some office space

I "worked" for commissionnaires back in Fall 2018. 3 day training pay was based on your previous post, but since I wasn't posted yet, I wasn't paid for the training. Everyone else at training was paid except me. After training I was only ever called for night shifts despite me being a full time student. I never worked a single shift for commissionnaires and returned my uniform still tied in bags. I never had problems like this working for commissionnaires NB & PEI.
